Goolwa Lions: Supporting Young Voices, Growing Community Spirit
At the Goolwa Lions Club, we believe the future isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we actively invest in. That belief comes to life every week in our deep connection with Goolwa Secondary College and Goolwa Primary School, where we roll up our sleeves and show up—not just for events, but for young people themselves.
From sizzling sausages at Sports Day to cheering students through BBQs and fundraisers, our presence is hands-on and heartfelt. We sponsor projects that build resilience and leadership, such as the Operation Flinders initiative, where we help send a team of young women who take part in an unforgettable outdoor leadership trek in October each year. At College end of year award nights, we proudly present the Lions Student Good Citizen Award—honouring a student who over the year has consistently modelled Lions values— good conduct, kindness, integrity, and service to others.
At the Primary School, things take a creative and joyful turn. We run the fun-filled “Mad Minute” public speaking challenge, support entries to the international Peace Poster competition, and gift every Reception student a book to kickstart their learning journey. During the year we sponsor the schools breakfast club for students who need. And when the year ends, we’re back again—with books for all graduating students and even Santa arriving on the oval, thanks to our club’s sponsorship.
These moments aren’t just events—they’re memories in the making. If you’ve ever wanted to make a lasting difference in your town, if you value service, laughter, and community spirit, the Goolwa Lions Club is the place to start.
Join us. Help shape young lives and rediscover the power of giving back.
reception students at the year with a book, and all graduating students at the end of the year with a book. As a special treat our club sponsors Santa and is helpers to visit the school oval.
