The Goolwa Bowling Club celebrated its 100-year anniversary by holding a two-day tournament on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 May 2023. Teams from far afield were invited to participate in the lucrative tournament, with $10 000 in prize money. Thirty-eight teams eventually competed for the prize and approximately 160 people attended the event.

Goolwa Lions Club was engaged to provide morning tea, followed by a two-course lunch and platters for the afternoon get together drinks. This was a huge exercise from planning/costing, preparation on the Sunday. Through to cooking, plating and clean up on the Monday, for 160 people!

The event was a great success, the bowling Club, the teams, and all in attendance enjoyed the food and had a great two days. The club members involved worked very hard over the two days, but the effort was rewarded with a boost to our fundraising account. As always Lions get it done and have fun while they do it.
