Why We Raffle—And Why It Matters

Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day—you name it. If it’s on the calendar, there’s a good chance you’ll find a few Goolwa Lions parked at a table in the Village Shopping Centre, manning the Book Den desk, or setting up in a local spot with a stack of raffle tickets and a simple hope: to raise funds for our community.

Sometimes there’s no big occasion—just a good reason to run a raffle. Because the way we see it, every dollar makes a difference.

The money raised goes straight into Lions Club projects that help keep Goolwa ticking—whether it’s funding emergency medical information kits, improving parks and spaces, or supporting the local Christmas Festival.

So go on—have a crack. You might walk away with a prize, but even if you don’t, someone else in town benefits. And that’s the kind of win that lasts longer than chocolate eggs or perfume.
